King County Transit Park and Ride Land Sale and Leases Redmond, WA
Project Description
King County proposed to sell a portion of the existing Redmond Park and Ride lot for development into a transit-oriented project. Construction of a parking garage on the remainder of the site would necessitate obtaining temporary parking.
Project Responsibilities
- Wrote RFP that would require affordable housing covenants
- Participated on the Transit negotiation team
- Identified and performed due diligence on potential short term parking lease locations, negotiate leases on approved sites and obtain required approvals
- Managed boundary line adjustment required for sale
- Obtained permits for the construction of the new parking garage
Project Results
- Negotiated affordable housing element in sales contract which exceeded requirement by 10%
- Fulfilled 269-space temporary parking requirement with only two agreements; Home Depot and City of Redmond; accomplished in spite of conflicting stakeholders within each entity
- Obtained all land use, ROW and grading permits
